🧾 Children under 18 can still have their passports collected by parents without additional authorization.
🚫 Friends, travel agents, or unrelated persons are no longer permitted to collect passports on behalf of applicants.
🔐 This move aims to strengthen passport security and avoid misuse or fraud.
🕐 The new rule applies to all US visa applicants at any center across India.
🗃️ Consulates will continue using document delivery services for those who opt in during the visa process.
