VFS Global has secured a five-year contract to manage visa applications for Slovakia from 83 countries, including India.
The deal will see 87 new visa centres opened across 41 countries, starting January 2026, to meet the increasing demand.
Slovakia’s visa processing will be handled in a total of 159 centres, ensuring easier access for international applicants.
The agreement covers both short-stay Schengen visas and long-stay national visas for purposes like work, study, and tourism.
Applicants will visit VFS centres for biometric data collection, document verification, and form submission.
VFS offers premium services like document translation, VIP lounges, and courier return for added convenience.
However, the use of premium services won’t impact visa decisions or speed up processing times.
VFS Global will assist with administrative tasks, while the Slovak authorities will make all final decisions on visa applications.
The initiative comes as Slovakia sees a rise in international visitors, with an expected 2.16 million arrivals in 2024.
Indian travelers will benefit significantly, as more local VFS centres will cut down on waiting times and improve accessibility.
