📜 The decision came through Decree-Law No. 85-B/2025, published on June 30, 2025.

🕒 After October 15, 2025, individuals must renew their documents as normal.

📆 If you apply for renewal after the deadline, your proof of payment will be valid for 180 days.

🔒 This is the final extension — no more automatic renewals are expected.

🇵🇹 The extension is only valid within Portugal, not for travel to other Schengen countries.

💻 New online portals will be introduced for document renewals and appointment scheduling.

🏁 Portugal aims to resolve the backlog and transition to a new digital system by the end of 2025.
