The preparation is done; now the interview day itself. Our Part 2 preparation video (English: https://youtu.be/IFkRZyAj_6g · Nepali: https://youtu.be/l2eDAq0eRhQ) takes candidates through the embassy day step by step. This written guide is the companion to that video — keep it handy on the morning of your appointment.
One honest reminder: the interview is a routine step in a genuine application. The embassy's job is to verify that your file is real and consistent. Your job is to present it calmly and truthfully.
1. Embassy day logistics
- Address and time — confirm the appointment details at the Embassy of Romania, New Delhi the day before, and plan to arrive with time to spare.
- Carry your appointment letter — it may be checked at entry.
- Photographs — take extra passport-size photos in your bag; even if they are not needed, having them costs nothing.
- Original documents — carry originals plus copies. Officers sometimes ask to see an original that is only in the file as a copy.
2. The final document check
Before you leave for the embassy, do a five-minute check:
- Passport (valid, with blank pages) and its copies.
- Employment contract and work permit documents.
- Appointment letter or confirmation.
- Photographs.
- Any additional documents the embassy's instructions ask for.
Arrive with your documents in order — a neat, complete file signals a prepared candidate before a single question is asked.
3. Biometrics — nothing to worry about
Biometrics (fingerprints and a photograph) are a standard part of the visa process in most countries, including Romania. For most candidates this is a routine, quick step:
- It is identity verification, not an interrogation.
- The officer will guide you through it; follow the instructions given.
- It is not a sign that anything is wrong with your application.
4. Interview behaviour
The way you conduct yourself matters as much as what you say:
- Be calm and polite. Greet the officer, answer clearly, and do not rush.
- Answer truthfully. Say what your file says. If you do not know something, say so honestly rather than inventing an answer.
- Answer simply. Short, clear answers beat long, rambling ones.
- Do not argue or plead. The officer is doing a job; your calm confidence is your best argument.
- No mobile phone use in the interview area unless permitted.
5. What the officer is looking for
The visa officer is checking one thing: is this application genuine? They look for:
- Consistency between your answers and your documents.
- That you understand your role, employer and salary.
- That you are not being misled by an unlicensed agent or asked to pay illegally.
A candidate who knows their file answers these checks naturally. That is why we prepare every candidate we deploy with the Part 1 and Part 2 videos and mock interview practice — so the real interview is not the first time you say these answers out loud.
6. After the interview
- The embassy will tell you how the decision will be communicated and the expected processing steps.
- Do not ask the officer to speed things up — timelines are set by the authorities.
- Share your result with your coordinator so the next steps (travel, on-ground support) can be arranged.
