Welding Jobs in Romania: Roles, Certification and What Indian Welders Should Know

21 August 2026 · Sector Guide

Welding is one of the most consistently requested trades in Romania's manufacturing and construction sectors. For Indian welders with real experience, the corridor is open — but it rewards preparation. Here is what the roles look like, what employers actually test, and how the process works through a licensed agent.

Which welding roles do Romanian employers ask for?

The most common requests we see are MIG/MAG welders for manufacturing and fabrication lines, TIG welders for pipe and stainless work, and structural welders for construction and metalwork. Some employers also ask for certified welders who can read drawings and follow quality-control documentation, because the work feeds into EU-standard production.

Certification and the trade test

Certificates matter in Romania, but so does practical proof. Employers and their technical teams typically run a trade test — an actual weld under observation — before selection is confirmed. That is why we tell candidates: bring your certificates, but also be ready to weld. A candidate who can demonstrate the skill passes more reliably than one with paperwork alone.

  • MIG/MAG — the volume roles; consistent bead quality and settings matter.
  • TIG — stainless and pipe work; cleaner finish and more control required.
  • Structural — reading drawings, fit-up and positional welding.

What the deployment process looks like

The process follows the same licensed pipeline as every Green Outdoors corridor: a written employer demand letter with role specification, candidate shortlisting and trade testing, a signed employment contract, work-permit processing and the visa file, then travel and on-ground support. You can follow the detail on the Romania corridor page.

Language and readiness

Romanian or basic English for workplace safety and instruction is a growing expectation on larger sites. Our courses division offers Romanian language preparation, and we are straightforward with candidates about which roles genuinely require it. Safety briefings, PPE habits and respect for quality-control processes are part of what makes a welder employable beyond the first contract.

Costs and compliance

A Registered Recruiting Agent is capped by law at ₹30,000 + GST in service charges for Indian workers, collected digitally against a receipt. Visa fees, medicals and airfare are employer-borne. Any agency asking for more, or promising a guaranteed selection for a fee, is not operating within the rules.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need certification to apply? Experience plus a willingness to take a trade test matters most; certification strengthens the file. Some employer mandates specify certified welders.

How long does the process take? From a few weeks to a few months depending on permit and embassy workloads. No one can honestly guarantee a fixed timeline.

Is the job guaranteed? No. Selection depends on the trade test and the employer's decision, and visa outcomes are decided by the authorities — never by an agent.
